Mandarin-Orange

More about Mandarin...

Mandarines (also known as Tangerines) are related varieties of oranges distinguished by loose, easily peeled skin and sweet juicy flesh. Just as oranges, they belong to the citrus family and are scientifically known as Citrus reticulata. Native to China, mandarins are nowadays widely grown in many parts of the world especially in California or Sicily.

The mandarin got its name because it was exploited by high-ranking government officials in China (Mandarins).

The juicy segments of mandarins add richness to fruit or even green salads. Their skin, grated in zest imparts, adds a delicious orange flavor to confectionary items such as biscuits, cakes, muffins, pastry cream, ice creams etc.

More about Orange...

The evergreen orange tree has been cultivated for thousands of years. It is supposed to originate from South and indo China. Oranges are now the most popular fruit of the citrus family easily available all year round. There are different types of oranges: navel oranges, Valencia oranges and blood oranges are the most cultivated ones.

An excellent source of vitamin C, oranges also contain very good levels of vitamin A and a very good amount of minerals like potassium and calcium.

Whether you eat them fresh, add to salads and desserts, drink the juice, or make into marmalade, oranges are a tasty, tangy delight!
